Josef Giessen

Josef Giessen (born August 5, 1858 in Deidesheim , † June 28, 1944 in Frankenthal ) was a politician from the Rhineland-Palatinate .

Life

Giessen attended the humanistic Herzog-Wolfgang-Gymnasium in Zweibrücken. After graduating from high school in 1877, he began to study law at the Hessian Ludwig University . In 1878 he was reciprocated in the Corps Teutonia Giessen . When he was inactive , he moved to the Friedrich Wilhelms University in Berlin , the University of Leipzig and the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . In 1880 he also became active in the Corps Franconia Munich . In December 1884 he passed the major state examination in Speyer . He then worked as a public prosecutor and district judge in Neustadt an der Haardt (today Neustadt an der Weinstrasse ), Kaiserslautern and Zweibrücken. From 1895 he was district judge, from 1902 first public prosecutor and from 1904 regional court director in Frankenthal. In 1924 Giessen was appointed permanent deputy of the district court president of Frankenthal with the title of district court president. He retired on January 1, 1928.

In the 20th electoral term (1907-1912) and in the 21st electoral term (1912-1918) Giessen represented the constituency of Kirchheimbolanden in the Chamber of Deputies (Bavaria) as a liberal .
