Josef Hebel (entrepreneur)
Josef Hebel (* 1894 in Westerheim near Memmingen; † 1972 ) was a German construction technician and entrepreneur.
Life
After his apprenticeship as a bricklayer , which he finished as a journeyman at the age of 15 , he attended the building trade school in Passau . In 1914, he completed his studies as a construction technician at the Augsburg Building School (now Augsburg University of Applied Sciences ) . After working for six months at the Memmingen district building authority , he was drafted into the army in 1914 with a railway company on the western front. In 1919 Josef Hebel became a partner in the del Mestre construction business . From 1926 he took over its sole management.
In 1943 he was the first in Germany to start producing aerated concrete . Aerated concrete components were manufactured at a new location, Emmering near Fürstenfeldbruck. A process developed and patented by him enabled him to efficiently manufacture even large-format aerated concrete components.
