Josef Hederer

Josef Hederer (born June 25, 1927 in Kuttenplan ; † August 28, 2019 in Munich ) was a German educationalist . For many years he was head of the specialist academy for social pedagogy in the state capital of Munich and city director in the education authority of the state capital of Munich.

Live and act

After his release from captivity, Josef Hederer completed his training as a youth carer. He then worked as a youth carer in the Munich district from 1951 to 1962 . In addition, he studied education, psychology and moral theology at the University of Munich. Josef Hederer completed his studies with the dissertation The youth communities and their leaders . From 1949 to 1964 he was chairman of the district youth association in Munich-Land, and from 1954 to 1964 he was deputy chairman of the district youth association in Upper Bavaria.

In 1961, Josef Hederer took over the management of the kindergarten teachers 'seminar and the youth leaders' seminar of the city of Munich . Until 1986 he was responsible for the training facility (which has since been converted into a specialist academy for social and curative education). In 1970 he was also appointed head of the Higher Technical School for Social Work for two years . Until he retired in 1992, he was Director of Studies in the School Department of the City of Munich, Vocational Schools Department .

Josef Hederer committed himself to his professional obligations in voluntary work. So he was u. a. Member of the main committee of the specialist committee for social professions of the German Association , was one of the founding members of the working group of Bavarian technical schools (later: specialist academies) for social pedagogy , of which he was the first chairman for many years, and founded the archive of the in Munich in the early 1970s Association for the promotion of socio-educational training , which has several thousand specialist books and magazines on elementary education, psychology and related areas as well as photos, files, statements about the concepts and model facilities of pre-school and extra-curricular education. Another area is dedicated to the training of kindergarten teachers, youth leaders, occupational therapists, handicraft teachers and curative teachers.

Josef Hederer was also active as a journalist. He published specialist books on social pedagogy, which became standard works for teacher training.
