Josef Hodes

Josef Hodes (born May 30, 1898 in Willebadessen , † after 1968) was a German politician ( CDU ). From 1950 to 1954 he was a member of the People's Chamber of the GDR .

Life

Josef Hodes learned the trade of a businessman. In 1945 he was a founding member of the CDU local group Hainichen , in 1946 a member, from 1949 chairman of the CDU district board in Döbeln and a member of the CDU regional board of Saxony. In May 1949 he ran for the German People's Congress . Until 1950 he was district councilor for trade and supply in the council of the Döbeln district . In October 1950 he was elected second mayor of the trade fair city of Leipzig . As the successor to the resigned Mayor Arno Wolfrum, he took over the Labor and Social Welfare Department.

From October 1950 to 1954 he was a member of the CDU parliamentary group of the People's Chamber . As chairman of the Leipzig District Peace Council, he was elected to the Presidium of the German Peace Council on April 20, 1958 at the 5th German Peace Congress. In 1963, Hodes worked as the director of the city district administration of the food trade organization (HO) in Leipzig-Mitte and last until 1968 as a division manager at the HO-Kreisbetrieb Lebensmittel Leipzig-Stadt.
