Josef Jandrisits

Josef Jandrisits (born April 6, 1949 in Ilz , Eastern Styria ) is an Austrian musician and composer.

Life

Motivated by his grandfather, Jandrisits started taking accordion lessons at the age of six . He later learned the guitar and from the age of 16 he became a member of various bands (Rocking Stars, Starfighters), which mainly played dance music.

With Schiffkowitz (the one S from STS ), Boris Bukowski and Erich Reinberger he founded the Music Machine in 1968 , which was primarily dedicated to the songs of the Beatles, the Rolling Stones and other groups from this period.

In 1971 he formed the rock band Mashuun with Gert Steinbäcker (the other S from STS ), Peter Szammer, Franz Posch and Petrus Wippel , which primarily made people sit up and take notice with their own compositions.

In 1973 the band went to Germany, where they broke up after a year. Josef got a job as a guitarist with the then cult group Guru Guru , which was the first German rock group to appear in 1976 in the Rockpalast , a production of the WDR . Shortly thereafter, the ZDF produced the television feature film “Self Defense” with well-known actors such as Günter Lamprecht , Rolf Zacher and Diether Krebs , in which the band played the leading role.

In 1982 Jandrisits returned to Austria, where he wrote the music for the STS hit Fürstenfeld with Schiffkowitz (already in the drawer under the name With a little help since 1977). Then he was a musician with the Coco Band , with Carl Peyer , in various theater productions and a teacher at the summer academy in Greece on the Ionian island of Ithaca .

In 2004 he produced the album Bring it Home with the English singer Rebecca Llewellyn . Jandrisits currently works as a composer, producer and web designer.

Since 2005 he has been producing travel reports on southern Europe, mainly Greece, on DVD as a videographer.

Sporadic appearances as a session band with Monika Ruppnig (violin), Uli Ruppnig (drums), Robert Tesar (bass), Toni Radl (bass) or in a duo unplugged with Georg Eisner (guitar).

Since 2011 often on the road with the camper and own video productions and reports from the impressions of the various trips.
