Willi Langer

Willi Langer (born November 15, 1960 in St. Pölten ) is an Austrian bass player . He celebrated his greatest successes with the band Count Basic .

Life

Willi Langer spent the first ten years of his life in Kilb , Melk district . Then he moved to Krems , where he still lives today. Shortly after he started playing bass , he formed the fusion band Zenit. In 1984 he began studying at the jazz department of the Vienna Conservatory . He becomes a member of important Austrian fusion bands such as Ostinato , Incognito and Harri Stojka Express . In 1987 he became a member of the "Orchestra of the United Theaters of Vienna", where he worked for 7 years with interruptions ( Cats , Phantom of the Opera , The Rocky Horror Show , Elisabeth , Tanz der Vampire , Hair etc.). In 1989 he became a member of the band by the Austrian singer Wilfried and worked with Boris Bukowski , Stefanie Werger , Waterloo and Wolfgang Ambros .

Count Basic was founded in the early 1990s . In 1994 his first solo album was released, called "The Colors of the Octopus", followed by his second in 2002, called "The Course of Life". International he worked for Gloria Gaynor , The Supremes , Tina Turner or Thomas D . Since 2004 he has been part of Rainhard Fendrich's band .

Since 1993 he has been teaching bass of popular music at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna .
