Josef "Jupp" Lammers (born July 17, 1922 in Bocholt , † October 15, 2012 in Schwerte ) was a German football player and coach .
Career
The trained left wing striker was active for many years from 1946 in the first-class football league at the time and played for TSV 1860 Munich , 1. FC Bocholt and Prussia Münster . For 1860 Munich he scored 14 goals in 20 games in the Oberliga Süd 1947/48 and took part in the first final round of the German football championship after the war as the South runner-up. At Prussia Münster, Jupp Lammers was part of the so-called "100,000 Mark Storm" with Sigi Rachuba , Adi Preißler , Rudi Schulz and Fiffi Gerritzen from 1949 . In his first season, Lammers scored ten goals this season, including four in the 8-1 win against FC Schalke 04 .
In the 1950/51 season, the student national player reached the runner-up with the Prussians in the Oberliga West with one point behind FC Schalke 04 and qualified again for the final round of the German championship . Against the rivals 1. FC Nürnberg , Hamburger SV and Tennis Borussia Berlin , the path led to the final on June 30, 1951 in Berlin against 1. FC Kaiserslautern , which the Westphalia end with 1: 0 after a 1-0 lead : 2 lost. In the final Lammers did not meet, but he took part in all seven finals and scored five goals. He scored two particularly important goals in the dramatic 8-2 win against Tennis Borussia Berlin, which was why Preußen Münster only secured the final. Jupp Lammers was never able to repeat the success of 1951 with his team - there was no better than a fourth place in the league (1953/54). He played for Preußen Münster until 1956, for which he scored 47 goals in a total of 151 league games.
After his active career, Josef Lammers returned to his hometown and was a player-coach at Olympia Bocholt from 1956 to 1958 . In 1959 he took over the post of sports teacher at the state division club TuS Borken , and in the 1960s he coached FC Remblinghausen and TuS Hattingen . In 1969 he led the Ruhr Area Association from Hattingen to the highest German amateur class, the Association League Westphalia.
From 1960 Lammers was a physical education teacher at the Nepomucenum high school in Coesfeld .
