Josef Lauritsch

Josef Lauritsch (born April 17, 1918 in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee , Carinthia ; † December 27, 2003 in Vienna ) was an Austrian politician ( VdU , later FPÖ ).

Life

Josef Lauritsch grew up in Klagenfurt, where he attended elementary school from 1924 to 1928 and then went to grammar school until 1937 . After graduation he entered the 1937 federal army one, but had only a year later, after the annexation of Austria as a soldier of the Wehrmacht serve. Only in 1945 did he return home to Austria after the war , where he settled in Graz.

In 1945 Lauritsch began studying political science at the University of Graz ; He received his doctorate in 1950 . In 1950 Lauritsch found work as a consultant in the Styrian Chamber of Labor ; from 1951 to 1954 he sat on the board there.

Politically, Lauritsch felt close to the so-called "Right Camp". So he joined the Association of Independents (VdU), later the Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ); whose country spokesman for social issues he was from 1950 to 1959.

Lauritsch held his first political mandate from 1952 to 1953, when he was a member of the Graz municipal council for a few months . Then Lauritsch was sworn in as a member of the Federal Council in Vienna . It remained so from April 1953 to April 1957.
