Josef Niedermayer (politician)
Josef Niedermayer (born June 1, 1926 in Viechtach ; † June 12, 2016 there ) was a German politician ( CSU ).
Niedermayer attended elementary school and did a banking apprenticeship. He then worked for the German Wehrmacht and was a prisoner of war until 1946 .
Niedermayer was a member of the Viechtach city council from 1956 to 1966 , after which he was the city's first mayor until 1990 . In 1986 he was made an honorary citizen there, and in 1990 he became the former mayor . From 1966 he was district administrator in the district council of the Viechtach district , then from 1972 to 2008 of the Regen district . From 1970 to 1994 he sat in the Bavarian state parliament , initially as a list candidate and then always directly elected in the Regen district .
