Josef Preindl

Josef Preindl (born October 27, 1921 in Hall in Tirol ; † November 3, 1972 in Innsbruck , Tirol ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ).

Life

Josef Preindl grew up in Solbad Hall, as Hall in Tirol was called until 1974. Here he visited after the elementary school a human High School and earned in 1939, the Matura . In 1946 he joined the postal service at the Hall Post Office, where he was also a union member. Just a year later, in 1947, he became a shop steward . In this function, however, he only worked until 1951.

Afterwards he was elected chairman of the personnel committee for the post and telegraph management for Tyrol and Vorarlberg .

Within the ÖVP, Preindl belonged to the Austrian Workers' Union (ÖAAB). Within the ÖAAB, he was the head of the regional section for postal and telegraph employees.

His brief political career began in February 1972 when he was sworn in as a member of the Federal Council in Vienna . However, he held his mandate for just under nine months, until his death in November 1972. He was 51 years old.
