Josef Reinfuß

Josef Reinfuß (born July 1, 1882 in Auspitz , † April 4, 1962 in Gotha ) was a German teacher and politician .

Life

Born as the son of a castle administrator, Reinfuß studied mathematics , physics , pedagogy , philosophy and astronomy in Brno , Vienna and Graz after attending secondary school in Auspitz . During his studies in 1901 he became a member of the Libertas Brno fraternity . After completing his studies, he worked as a teacher and professor at the secondary school in Prossnitz and from 1910 at the regional high school in Brno. He was a member of the board of the German Youth Association . During the First World War he was employed in the fortress artillery in Pola from 1914 to 1918 . He became a member and chairman of the German Mittelstandspartei founded by Alois Baeran . In 1919 Reinfuß became a local councilor and later deputy mayor of Brno. He became a member of the German National Council. From 1915 he was a member of the Moravian Parliament . In 1925 he worked for the German National Party in the Prague parliament as list leader of the united German bourgeois parties. He was also a member and assessor of the regional committee, member of the board of directors of the Moravian-Silesian electricity company and from 1921 a member of the committee of the First Moravian Savings Bank in Brno, of which he became chief director in 1939. In 1933 he was dismissed by the Czechs, but returned soon afterwards. In 1945 he was imprisoned in Linie and Mürau prisons, but was acquitted by the Czech People's Court. He went to Gera. There he became a teacher at the district folk high school .
