Josef Rolletschek (also Josef Rollet, * 1859 in Gießaus in the municipality of Liberk ; † 1934 in Weimar ) was an Austrian painter who is considered a representative of the Weimar School of Painting .

Josef Rolletschek studied from 1883 to 1890 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague with František Sequens . From 1890 he lived in the Künstlerheim in Weimar and studied from 1891 to 1896 at the Grand Ducal Saxon Art School in Weimar with Carl Frithjof Smith .

Rolletschek was friends with the publicist and esotericist Rudolf Steiner and painted his portrait. Rolletschek also wrote the book “What flowers tell each other and other things”. In addition to his own works, Rolletschek made some copies of old portraits of prominent personalities, including a. by Friedrich II of Prussia based on the original by Anna Rosina de Gasc and by Anna Amalia von Prussia based on the original by Angelika Kaufmann .

His paintings are u. a. in the collections of the City Museum Weimar and the National Gallery in Prague .
