Josef Sampl (born May 26, 1948 in Zederhaus ) is a former Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and teacher. Sampl was a member of the Salzburg state parliament from 2001 to 2013 .

education and profession

After completing school, Sampl studied German, psychology, philosophy and pedagogy and did a doctorate in German and psychology. He completed his studies with the academic degree Mag. from. Subsequently, Sampl taught at elementary, secondary and secondary schools and was employed at the University of Salzburg . Sampl was a university lecturer at the University of Klagenfurt from 1976 to 1979 and lecturer at the University of Salzburg from 1977 to 1995. Sampl was also an employee in numerous specialist committees of the Ministry of Education, held the function of President of the State School Council between 1994 and 1996 and was chairman of the examination committee for the implementation of teacher training courses for elementary, secondary, special schools and polytechnic courses. Sampl then became head of the Federal Pedagogical University in Salzburg, which he held until 2012. Sampl is the author of numerous scientific publications, dealing with questions of pedagogy and educational policy.

Politics and functions

Sampl was or is a member of the college of the state school council, regional chairman of the Christian state teachers' association, board member of Christian teachers Austria, chairman of the Salzburg teacher's house association, vice-president of the Catholic Action , board member of the academics association and chairman of the board of the Salzburg educational institute. In 1999 he was head of the Salzburg Future Forum with Governor Franz Schausberger .

Sampl was a member of the Salzburg state parliament from October 24, 2001 to June 18, 2013 and, since 2006, deputy chairwoman of the club. Sampl was also the area spokesman for the ÖVP state parliament club for education and schools. Sampl ran for tenth place on the ÖVP state list in the 2009 state elections.
