Josef Siedler (* 25. March 1913 in Leutkirch im Allgäu , † 4. October 2005 ) was a German politician of the CDU .

Political activity

On February 4, 1946, Josef Siedler and others founded the CDU local association in his hometown of Leutkirch in the Allgäu. From 1946 to 1948 and from 1965 to 1972 he was a member of the district council of the former district of Wangen , from 1948 to 1984 a member of the municipal council of the city of Leutkirch and from 1956 to 1980 he was directly elected member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg for the constituency of Wangen .

Honorary positions and awards

Josef Siedler was chairman of the farmers' association in Wangen from 1949 to 1982. On March 15, 1975, he was awarded the Great Cross of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany . Since 1978 he has been an honorary citizen of the large district town of Leutkirch in the Allgäu, and since 1983 holder of the Baden-Württemberg Medal of Merit . In 2014 a street in Leutkirch was named after him.
