Josef Vinklář

Josef Vinklář (born November 10, 1930 in Podůlší , † September 18, 2007 in Prague ) was a Czech actor .

Life

Vinklář played his first roles as a child in the Dismanův rozhlasový dětský soubor (DRDS). He received his first engagement at the age of fifteen with the Divadlo satiry in Prague. After the revival of the Osvobozené divadlo by Jiří Voskovec and Jan Werich , Vinklář played there from 1946 to 1948. He was part of the ensemble of the Pardubice Municipal Theater until 1950 and was then engaged at the Realistické divadlo in Smíchov .

Through his role as Dr. Cvach in the television series The Hospital on the Outskirts of the City Vinklář became known to a wide audience. In 1983 the actor moved to the Národní divadlo after 33 years in Smíchov . There he played u. a. 2001 the Wassermann Ivan in Lucerna by Alois Jirásek and in 2004 the Petr Dubský in Našich furiantech by Ladislav Stroupežnický . In 1987 Vinklář was honored as an "Honored Artist" in Czechoslovakia. In 2001 he was awarded the František Filipovský Prize for his life's work as an actor and voice actor.

Through his acquaintance with the director Zbyněk Brynych , who worked in the FRG , Vinklář also appeared in two episodes of the crime series Der Kommissar and in an episode of Der Alte , in which he spoke German.

Josef Vinklář, supported by Václav Dušek , published his memoirs in 2001 under the title “Pokus o kus pravdy”.

Vinklář played his last role in the series Hraběnky by Česká televize , which was broadcast in 2007. Josef Vinklář was married to Jana Dítětová (1926–1991) for the first time. He later married his long-time lover Ivanka Devátá (* 1935), with whom he had a son. Vinklář is the father of the painter Jakub Vinklář, who came from his marriage to Jana Dítětová. He died of cancer.
