Josef Vonbank

Josef Vonbank (born January 17, 1905 in Auserbraz , municipality of Bludenz , † January 8, 1936 in Hohenems ) was an Austrian politician ( VF ), farmer and blacksmith. From 1934 to 1936 he was a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament .

education and profession

Vonbank completed an apprenticeship as a blacksmith and spent several years on the move . Between 1927 and 1928 he attended the agricultural vocational school Mehrerau in Bregenz and subsequently worked as a farmer .

Politics and functions

Vonbank became a member of the community council of Bludenz in 1933 and worked from 1933 to 1935 as parliamentary leader of Auserbraz. He was in 1934 appointed as civil representatives of the profession agriculture and forestry by the Vorarlberg provincial governor as a member of parliament and was Ständische this during the time of the corporate state or the Austrofascism on November 14, 1934 until his death. During his time as a member of the state parliament, he was also a member of the Agriculture Committee in the 1934/35 session.

Vonbank was a member of the Vorarlberger Bauernbund and acted as local and district chairman of the farmers' union , from 1933 he was also chairman of the Innerländer Bauernbund. Furthermore, he was involved as a member of the Patriotic Front of Vorarlberg, where in 1934 he held the position of local group leader of Braz. He was also a member of the Heimatwehr and active as a member of the Brazer Reichsbund.

Private

Josef Vonbank was the son of Josef Alois Gebhard Vonbank (1868-1937) and his wife Maria Ludwina Burtscher (1870-1954), and his parents were born in Braz. He married Anna Karolina Hildegard Hillbrand (1909–1977) in Braz on November 4, 1935, and his son was born in 1936. After Josef Vonbank died in the Hohenems hospital in 1936, his widow married the later governor Ulrich Ilg in 1937 , who subsequently also took in his son, Josef Vonbank junior. Josef Vonbank was the brother of the later member of the state parliament, Karl Vonbank .
