Josef Wilhelm von der Linde
Josef Wilhelm von der Linde (* before 1775 , † after 1818 ) was a Prussian lieutenant colonel and knight of the order Pour le Mérite .
Life
Josef Wilhelm belonged to the noble family von der Linde on. He was a son of the heir to Pruss in the Konitz district , Georg Nikolaus von der Linde (* approx. 1720; † before 1812) and Sophia Renata, née von Wussow .
On October 25, 1794, as a Prussian second lieutenant in the vacant Wildau regiment , he received the order Pour le Mérite on foot for conquering the bridge at Magnuszewo in Poland, which was already occupied by Polish patriots , and was wounded. Linde was promoted to captain in the regiment in 1806 and was lieutenant colonel and commander in the 4th garrison battalion in 1817 , then became commander of the 1st garrison battalion. He also received the Iron Cross at Großbeeren .
In 1817, as a Freemason , he was a member of the Grand Lodge of the Three Worlds . From family inheritance from 1812 to 1818, he and his siblings owned the Chwarsznau estate in the Konitz district.
