Josef von Strombeck
Josef von Strombeck (born September 7, 1830 in Halberstadt , † August 18, 1915 in Berlin ), also known as Innocent von Strombeck , was a German judge and member of parliament in Prussia.
Life
Strombeck attended the Carolinum College in Braunschweig . From 1849 he studied law at the Georg-August University in Göttingen . There he became a member of the Landsmannschaft Teutonia, founded on November 25, 1848. The Corps Teutonia (later Corps Teutonia-Hercynia) emerged from it in 1854. As an inactive , he moved to the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn and the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität zu Berlin . After graduating in 1853 he entered the Prussian administration of justice as an auscultator in Halberstadt . He completed his legal clerkship in Bonn (1855–1859). From 1859 he was a district judge and from 1865 to 1879 district judge in Gardelegen . After 16 years as a district judge at the Magdeburg district court , he was at the Berlin district court from 1895 to 1913 , where he retired as a secret judge.
Strombeck was a member of the German Center Party . He sat in the Prussian House of Representatives from 1882 to 1915 and was its senior president in 1913 . For 28 years (1884-1912) he represented the constituency of Erfurt 2 Heiligenstadt , Worbis in the Reichstag (German Empire) .
