Joseph Anders

Joseph Anders (* 1795 in Rzeszów ; † 1869 ) was an Austrian officer .

Life

Originally from Galicia , Anders studied law in Lemberg . He finished his studies in 1813 and became a cadet of the Bianchi regiment . In the same year he was promoted to ensign and took part in the campaigns that lasted until 1815. Since 1817 he was a member of the general quartermaster's staff as a lieutenant in the pioneer corps . This was followed in 1823 to transport the lieutenant , in 1829 to captain , 1836 to major and 1839 to lieutenant colonel . During this time he also taught Stefan Franz Viktor of Austria .

In 1841 he moved to the Prince Wasa regiment as a colonel and two years later became Ajo with Joseph Karl Ludwig of Austria , where Anders received the Knight's Cross of the Order of St. Stephen . Appointed major general in 1848 , he rose to lieutenant field marshal the following year .
