Joseph Deng (born July 7, 1998 ) is an Australian middle-distance runner of Sudanese - Kenyan origin, who has lived in Australia since he was six.

Athletic career

Joseph Deng gained his first international experience at the U20 World Championships 2016 in Bydgoszcz , where he was eliminated in the semifinals over 800 meters. Two years later he qualified for the first time for the Commonwealth Games in the Australian Gold Coast , where he finished seventh in the final over 800 meters in 1: 47.20 minutes. At the Diamond League Meeting in Monaco , Deng improved Ralph Doubell's record in Oceania, which had existed since 1968, to 1: 44.21 minutes and thus finished seventh.
