Joseph Gébara

Joseph Gébara (born June 10, 1965 in Amatour , Lebanon ) is a Lebanese Melkite Greek Catholic clergyman and Archbishop of Petra and Philadelphia ( Jordan ).

Life

Joseph Gébara received on 10 July 1993, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On 31 October 2013 it appointed Pope Francis to Coadjutor Bishop of the Eparchy of Nossa Senhora do Paraíso em São Paulo . The Melkite Greek Catholic Patriarch of Antioch , Gregory III. Laham BS , ordained him episcopal on December 21 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the bishop of the eparch Nossa Senhora do Paraíso em São Paulo, Fares Maakaroun , and the Melkite Greek-Catholic archbishop of the Archeparchy of Tire , Georges Bacaouni .

With the resignation of Archbishop Fares Maakaroun on July 21, 2014, he succeeded him as Bishop of the Eparchy Nossa Senhora do Paraíso.

On February 20, 2018, Pope Francis confirmed the appointment of Gébara as Archbishop of Petra and Philadelphia by the Synod of the Melkite Greek Catholic Church.
