Joseph Keizer

Georg Joseph Jakob Keizer (born May 16, 1859 in Zug , † February 13, 1939 in Münchenstein ) was a Swiss geodesist , watercolorist and professor .

education

Joseph Keizer attended the city school in Zug and the local canton school . He then worked at the technical office of the Anglo-Swiss Condensed Milk Company in Cham ZG . In 1877/78 he attended the geometer technical school at the building trade school in Stuttgart . He then worked for a year and a half at the Baden land registry and in Pforzheim . From 1879 to 1881 he studied geodesy at the Polytechnic in Karlsruhe . He worked on cadastral surveys in Germany and in western Switzerland . Then he passed the exam to become a concordat geometer. In 1883/84 he completed an annual course at the Polytechnic in Zurich . From 1884 to 1893 he was a drawing teacher at the Cantonal School in Zug. In 1887 he worked on the situation plan for the city of Zug. From 1893 to 1922 he was professor for technical drawing at the trade school in Basel . In his watercolors and drawings he also devoted himself to city ​​vedutas .
