Joseph Krebs

Joseph Krebs (born September 18, 1823 in Düsseldorf , † October 23, 1890 in Cologne ) was a writer, historian and member of the Reichstag .

Krebs attended high school in his hometown and studied philology and history in Bonn . He spent several years in the editorial office in Cologne appearing German People's Hall , until their ban. In addition to articles for scientific, political and entertaining magazines, he wrote a German story , three volumes of which were published up to the time of Rudolf I von Habsburg . In 1854 he was co-founder of the historical association for the Lower Rhine and long-time editor of the annals published by the association.

In 1858 he was elected to the Prussian House of Representatives from the constituency of Düsseldorf 1 District ( Kleve - Rees ) , to which he belonged until his death in 1890. From 1871 to 1874 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the center for the constituency of Düsseldorf 5 ( Essen ).

Krebs was buried in the family grave at the Melaten cemetery in Cologne (Hall 48, No. 28).
