Joseph Lubrano

Joseph "Big Joe" Lubrano (born October 26, 1970 in New York ) is an American mobster of the American La Cosa Nostra in New York City ; he has the position of a capo regime in the Lucchese Mafia family .

Life

Lubrano represents his family's interests on Arthur Avenue - which belongs to the core area of Little Italy in the Bronx , as well as in Manhattan and on Staten Island .

In 1994 Lubrano was sentenced to four years in prison for allegedly knocking down a colored police officer. During this process his membership in the Lucchese family became evident. Allegedly he should also belong to the Tanglewood Boys ; a gang that served as the Lucchese family's recruiting machine.

Murder of Louis Balancio

In it Mazzarella - a member of the Tanglewood Boys - was admitted to the Pentito and witness protection program in view of his charges in the Louis Balancio murder case . He confirmed the Tanglewood Boys' connection to the Lucchese family.

Mazzarella admitted his involvement in the murder of Louis Balancio together with Alfred "Freddy Boy" Santorelli - son of the Caporegime Anthony Santorelli and leader of the Tanglewood Boys - and continued to claim Lubrano was not a member of the Tanglewood Boys . After this testimony, it emerged that an original witness for the prosecution could not tell Lubrano and Santorelli - who actually look alike - apart. The FBI had to withdraw its allegations against Lubrano in this case before the district attorney.

New FBI wanted

From May 2010 the FBI searched again for Lubrano, u. a. for armed assault and other crimes.

On September 11, 2010, Lubrano was arrested in Yonkers and sentenced to 57 months in prison.

Lubrano was incarcerated at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) in Ray Brook, New York , from December 2012 to October 31, 2014 .
