Joseph Mahn Erie

Joseph Mahn Erie (born March 18, 1925 in Kanazogon ; † October 25, 2017 ) was a Myanmar clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Bassein .

Life

Joseph Mahn Erie was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Bassein on December 21, 1951 .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on February 16, 1968 Bishop of Bassein. The Apostolic Pro-Nuncio in India , Archbishop Giuseppe Caprio , donated him episcopal ordination on June 12 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Aloysius Moses U Ba Khim , Archbishop of Mandalay , and Gabriel Thohey Mahn-Gaby , Coadjutor Archbishop of Rangoon .

On June 3, 1982, Pope John Paul II accepted his early resignation.
