The Archdiocese of Mandalay ( Latin : Archidioecesis Mandalayensis ) is an archdiocese of the Roman Catholic Church based in Mandalay , Myanmar .

The archbishopric was established on November 27, 1866 as the Apostolic Vicariate of Central Burma from the Apostolic Vicariate Burma out by Pope Pius IX. founded; first bishop was Charles Arsène Bourdon , MEP . In 1870 the name was changed to the Apostolic Vicariate of Northern Burma (lat. Birmaniae Septentrionalis ). By Pope Pius XI. took place on January 5, 1939, the renaming in Apostolic Vicariate of Mandalay ; by Pope Pius XII. the vicariate was raised to an archbishopric on January 1, 1955.
