Joseph Pschorr (brewer, 1867)
Joseph Pschorr (born April 11, 1867 in Munich , † 1942 in Feldafing ) was a German brewery owner.
Life
Joseph Pschorr studied in Munich and became a member of the Corps Franconia Munich there in 1888 . After completing his studies, he joined his father's brewery, later Pschorrbräu AG , in Munich. In 1894 he founded import agencies for Pschorr beer in New York and Chicago. After the death of his father Georg Pschorr jun. (1830-1894) he took over the management of the brewery together with his brothers August Pschorr and Georg Theodor Pschorr , which he held until the transformation into a stock corporation in 1922. In 1897 he married Louise Bergmann (1876–1960), daughter of the industrialist Sigmund Bergmann .
Pschorr was President of the Munich Chamber of Commerce from 1912 to 1933 . He was a member of the supervisory boards of numerous large companies. Prince Regent Luitpold and King Ludwig III. he was on friendly terms with Bavaria .
His youngest brother was the chemist Robert Pschorr .
