Joseph Schuler (politician, 1847)

Joseph Schuler (born January 13, 1847 in Heiligenberg , † December 26, 1906 in Istein ) was a German Catholic clergyman, politician and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Schuler attended the elementary school in Heiligenberg from 1853 to 1858 and the grammar school in Constance from 1858 to 1864 . He studied from 1864 to 1867 at the University of Freiburg and from 1867 to 1870 at the Collegium Romanum in Rome . He was ordained a priest on September 18, 1869. He was then vicar from 1870 to 1877, chaplain and parish administrator until 1886 and then pastor in Istein.

From 1890 to 1907 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of the Grand Duchy of Baden 3 ( Waldshut , Säckingen , Neustadt in the Black Forest ) and the German Center Party . He was also a member of the Baden state parliament from 1891 to 1899.
