Joseph Stanislaus Albach
Joseph Stanislaus Albach (born February 2, 1795 in Preßburg , † November 12, 1853 in Eisenstadt ) was a Franciscan and preacher .
Life
Joseph Stanislaus Albach was born in Pressburg on February 2, 1795. After his studies he was accepted into the Franciscan order; After his ordination he preached in the Franciscan Church in Pest on Sundays in German. He was referred to as an “excellent pulpit speaker” and was soon referred to as the “Austrian Lacordaire ”. Through the rhetoric he used in his sermons "[he tore] the audience away [...] and [seized] them deeply". He made a name for himself not only as a preacher, but also as a devotional author . However, he had to withdraw from his work as a preacher due to a chronic illness. Then he moved to Eisenstadt to devote himself to his secondary occupations - botany and science.
