Joseph Thomas Dimino (born January 7, 1923 in New York City , † November 25, 2014 ) was Archbishop of the US military ordinariate .

Life

Joseph Thomas Dimino was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of New York on June 4, 1949 .

Pope John Paul II named him titular bishop of Hyccarum and auxiliary bishop in the US military ordinariate on March 29, 1983 . The Archbishop of New York Terence James Cardinal Cooke donated him episcopal ordination on April 20 of the same year ; Co - consecrators were John Joseph Thomas Ryan , Coadjutor Bishop of the United States Military Ordinariates, and Louis Edward Gelineau , Bishop of Providence .

On May 14, 1991, he was appointed Archbishop of the United States Military Ordinary and Titular Archbishop pro hac vice of Hyccarum .

On August 12, 1997, Pope John Paul II accepted his resignation from the leadership of the military ordinariate and on March 7, 1998 as titular archbishop.
