Kim-Josephine Bode (* 1982 in Oldenburg ) is a German musician ( recorder , Kaval , EWI ) who performs in both early and new music and improvisational music .

Live and act

Bode grew up in Münster, where she took recorder lessons with Gudula Rose at the Westphalian School for Music, as well as piano and harpsichord lessons and in 2002 received her general university entrance qualification. She studied recorder with Paul Leenhouts at the Sweelinck Conservatorium Amsterdam . Then she studied in the master's program This Is Music Theater Education at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag .

Since 2004 she has been increasingly interested in improvisation and world music as well as new music with performance . In the duo SurhaXn she explored the boundaries between jazz and new music together with the pianist Franz von Chossy . She is a member of the recorder trio aXolot , the art rock band Jerboah and the interdisciplinary Rutger Muller Ensemble ("Avantgarde Ambient Techno" with "Real Time Visuals"). There are also interdisciplinary music theater and dance projects. With the Burma Bebop project to Jan Klare she stood in 2017 at the Moers Festival before.

Prizes and awards

In the Jugend musiziert competition , she won several first prizes at federal level, both in solo and chamber music ratings. She has also successfully participated in international competitions such as Sonbu in Utrecht (1st prize and special prizes) and the International Recorder Days in Engelskirchen (1st prize). In 2018 she became an improviser in residence in Moers.
