Josephine McKim
Josephine McKim (born January 4, 1910 in Oil City , Pennsylvania , † December 10, 1992 in Woodstock , New York ) was an American swimmer and actress .
In the 1934 Johnny Weissmüller film Tarzan's Retaliation ( Tarzan and His Mate ), she doubled Maureen O'Sullivan in the swimming scenes.
Career as a swimmer
McKim won the bronze medal in the 400 meter freestyle at the 1928 Summer Olympics . She also swam in the first preliminary round of the 4 × 100-meter freestyle relay, but was replaced by Eleanor Garatti in the final . The Americans won the final.
At the 1932 Summer Olympics , she won the gold medal in the 4 × 200-meter freestyle relay. She finished fourth in the 100 meter freestyle.
