The District 10 is one of ten districts of the North Rhine-Westphalian state capital Dusseldorf . It includes the districts of Garath and Hellerhof . The form of the city districts to structure the city of Düsseldorf was introduced in 1975. The seat of the district administration is in the district administration office on Frankfurter Straße in Garath.

In contrast to other major cities in North Rhine-Westphalia such as Cologne or Duisburg , the city districts in Düsseldorf do not have proper names , but are only designated with a number.

In the last local election in 2014 , the population of the district who took part in the election voted 37.6% CDU , 34.3% SPD , 7.7% Greens , 3.0% FDP , 6.73% LEFT , The remaining parties accounted for 3.5% REP , 6.71% FWG and 0.46%. The district representation is thus dominated by a bourgeois majority, since the CDU and SPD have 14 out of 19 seats.
