Joshua "Kr0ne" Begehr (born April 18, 1988 in Kiel ) is a German e-athlete .

Life

Joshua Begehr grew up in Kronshagen near Kiel. Through his father's job, Jens Begehr, he came into contact with entertainment media at an early age, so that at the age of four he was already engaged in video games on a daily basis. In addition, his passion was ball sports. At the age of 11 he became interested in a martial art Taekwon-Do for the first time and found his teacher in Grandmaster Hans-Ferdinand Hunkel . In 2005 he passed his examination for the black belt (1st Dan) , three years later for the second master's degree (2nd Dan) . In 2007 he passed the Abitur. In 2011, the four-time national champion won the bronze medal at the German championships of traditional Taekwon-Do. In the same year Joshua Begehr planned and founded the Taekwon-Do school “Kang Center Hamburg” together with a partner in the Sternschanze district of Hamburg. Joshua left the company at the end of 2013 and has been reorienting himself since then. Parallel to his Taekwon-Do activities, he began a career as a professional athlete in e-sports under the nickname "Kr0ne" when he was still at school .

career

In 2006, Kr0ne first worked as a contract player in the soccer simulation FIFA for the Berlin club Mousesports , before moving to SK Gaming in 2007 . There he played as a professional player for three years. After winning the German championships ( ESL Pro Series ) with SK Gaming several times , he made his breakthrough in e-sports in 2009 when he won the title in the final when he first participated in the World Cyber ​​Games in the Chinese city of Chengdu won against Daniel Schellhase .

In addition to his world championship title , he was also European and again German champions of football in 2010 and can qualify for the World Cup in Los Angeles with a 1st place in the German preliminary round. He could not defend his world title there because he was eliminated from the tournament in the quarterfinals. At the 2011 CeBIT trade fair, the well-known computer company "Acer" made a works team known as Team Acer public, starting with a FIFA team founded by Desire. After three successful years in which his players could achieve international titles, Kr0ne left the team in March 2014. Up to this point in time, Kr0ne can claim one world title as well as three European and eight German championship titles.

In March 2015 he returned to SK Gaming before becoming team leader of the FIFA team at FC Schalke 04 in June 2016 .

He was voted “Player of the Year” by the community on the scene site “Fragster.de” . In addition, he was voted the most important player of the year and athlete of the year in his home town of Kronshagen .
