Josip Gregur

Josip Gregur SDB (* 1952 in the SFR Yugoslavia ) is a Croatian religious and Roman Catholic liturgical scholar .

Life

In 1970 he joined the order of the Salesians of Don Bosco. From 1972 to 1973 he studied philosophy at the Philosophical-Theological College of the SDB in Benediktbeuern . He did his military service from 1973 to 1975 in the former Yugoslavia . He completed his studies in philosophy and theology in Benediktbeuern (1975–1979) with a bachelor's degree in theology (at the Università Pontificia Salesiana ) or as a graduate theologian. From 1979 to 1980 he did an educational internship in the Don Bosco student hostel in Augsburg . He was ordained a priest in Benediktbeuern in 1980. He completed his church music studies at the Richard Strauss Conservatory in Munich (1980–1985) as a church musician B-exam and as a freelance music teacher . At the same time, he was an educator in the Salesianum youth hostel in Munich until 1981 . From 1985 to 1991 he was an educator in the boarding school (upper school) as well as (music and) religion teacher at the Marianum Buxheim . He completed his doctoral studies (1991–1995) in liturgical science / hymnology with Philipp Harnoncourt at the Karl-Franzens University in Graz as a doctor of theology . From 1995 he taught as a lecturer in liturgical science and church music at the PTH Benediktbeuern. From 1995 to 1997 he was university chaplain at the universities of Benediktbeuern. From 1997 he was a member of the Institute for Salesian Spirituality (ISS). After completing his habilitation at the Pontificio Ateneo Sant'Anselmo in Rome (1999–2002), he was awarded the Venia legendi and appointed private lecturer at the theological faculty of the University of Friborg . In March 2004 he was appointed professor of liturgical science and church music at the Philosophical-Theological College of the Salesians of Don Bosco. From 2006 to 2008 he was a lecturer at the University of Augsburg . From April 2008 to March 2010 he held the chair for liturgical science at the University of Augsburg. In April 2010 he accepted the call to the University of Augsburg for the professorship for liturgical studies.
