The Joska Kristall GmbH & Co. KG is a German glassworks in ground corn with offices in Bad Griesbach and Bad Fussing . It is a well-known excursion destination in the Bavarian Forest and shows traditional handicrafts in two glassworks, a glass cutting shop , glass painting and glass engraving. Joska Kristall has been performing under the brand name "JOSKA BODENMAIS - The Glass Paradise in the Bavarian Forest" since 2009.
The company is one of the attractions of the Glasstraße , a 250 km long holiday route in Eastern Bavaria .
history
Joska Kristall was founded at the end of 1960 by Josef Kagerbauer senior as a one-man business in Arberseestrasse. The company name JOSKA results from the initial abbreviations of the founder's name. The company was expanded to include a sales point in Scharebenstrasse in 1974, and in 1975 the Waldglashütte, built according to historical plans, followed at the same location.
The company is the world market leader for crystal cups and goblets made of glass. The products include the Women's World Award , the FIS World Cup Crystal Ball , the Four Hills Tournament Cups, the trophies for the Bavarian Prime Minister's Sports Prize , the Steiger Award , Arnold Sports Festival and the Franz Beckenbauer Kaiser Special Cup and many more.
In 1993, the “JOSKA Glasparadies” adventure world was built on Moosbach, a 70,000 square meter intersection of sales point and amusement park, which now has over 850,000 visitors per year.
Today the core business is glass production and refinement, plus the “glass paradise” as an adventure world with many attractions. Here, customers can be present at every step of the glass production from the glass furnace to the finishing. With “guest glass blowing”, the visitors can even try their hand at the glass furnace as a glass blower under supervision and take the self-blown ball home with them.
There are also the goblets and chandeliers segments. The manufacture of chandeliers has been an important part of production from the very beginning. The chandeliers are sold through specialist dealers throughout Europe and the factory outlet in Bodenmais.
