Juan Carlos Cachanosky

Juan Carlos Cachanosky , also called Charly (born October 13, 1953 , † December 31, 2015 in Buenos Aires ) was an Argentine economist and university lecturer .

Life

Juan Cachanosky was the brother of the economist and university professor Roberto Horacio Cachanosky and Angélica Cachanosky , the vice- rector of the Universidad CAECE in Buenos Aires, founded in 1967 .

He studied economics at the Pontificia Universidad Católica Argentina "Santa María de los Buenos Ayres" (UCA), where he and his brother took the exam. As a Centro de Estudio scholarship holder, he did his doctorate with Hans Sennholz , a Mises student, at Grove City College in Pennsylvania , United States .

In 1978 Alberto Benegas Lynch invited him to the Escuela Superior de Economía y Administración de Empresas (ESEADE), which he directed, where Cachanosky taught the history of economic thought. As director of the Ph.D. -Studying in business administration, he specialized in liberal economics; in particular he was a supporter of the teaching of the Austrian school . After Benegas Lynch was appointed to his first chair at the Universidad de Buenos Aires , he also brought Cachanosky in as an assistant professor. He also taught at the UCA in Buenos Aires and in Rosario .

Cachanosky was later appointed to the Universidad Francisco Marroquín (UFM) in Guatemala , where he became dean of the business school and made a contribution to the introduction of the business administration course. Most recently he also taught economics at the private schools SMC University Latinoamérica (there also head of the economics section) and the Liechtenstein Academy.

Cachanosky wrote several scientific publications . His research focused on analyzing the Great Depression of 1929.

He died in his office at the age of 62, leaving behind a wife, two sons, both also economists, and a daughter.
