Juan Carlos Medina (born August 22, 1983 in Torreón , Coahuila ) is a Mexican soccer player who mainly acts in midfield .

Life

Medina began his professional career in the third-class Segunda División with Académicos de Guadalajara , a farm team from Atlas Guadalajara . He was signed by the main club for the 2003/04 season and made his debut in the top Mexican division on August 31, 2003 in a local derby against UAG Tecos , which was lost 1-0. He scored his first goal in the Mexican professional league on September 30, 2004 to equalize 1: 1 in the 56th minute in the 3-1 victory of the Atlistas against the UNAM Pumas .

In the summer of 2008 Medina moved to Club América , where he could not assert himself from the start and was therefore loaned to CF Monterrey , with whom he won the championship title in the 2009 Apertura .

In the 2010/11 season he was loaned to Club San Luis and since the 2011/12 season he has been back in the Americanistas ' squad , with whom he won another championship title in the 2013 Clausura .

He made his debut for the Mexican national team on November 10, 2004 in a friendly against Guatemala, which was won 2-0. After another international game on February 28, 2007 against Venezuela (3-1), Medina only came back to further missions in 2013, which this time he completed over the full distance.
