Juan José Novo
Juan José Novo López (born February 10, 1922 in Avellaneda , Argentina , † 2001 in Cuernavaca , Mexico ), also known by the nicknames Cerebro and Chinchilla , was an Argentinian football player who mainly played in midfield .
Life
Novo began his football career in Argentina and moved to neighboring Uruguay in 1945 , where he joined the Montevideo Wanderers . A year later he left South America and from then on played in the Mexican league : first for the Club San Sebastián de León and then Atlas Guadalajara , where he won the championship in the 1950/51 season. He spent his last season in 1952/53 with León FC .
After completing his active career, he moved back to Guadalajara , where he met his future wife Angélica during his time at Atlas.
Novo died in 2001 in Cuernavaca, the capital of the Mexican state of Morelos , after previously suffering from Alzheimer's disease.
