Juan María Uriarte Goiricelaya
Juan María Uriarte Goiricelaya (born June 7, 1933 in Frúniz ) is former bishop of San Sebastián .
Life
Juan María Uriarte Goiricelaya was ordained a priest on July 28, 1957 and was incardinated in the clergy of the Diocese of Bilbao . Paul VI appointed him on September 17, 1976 auxiliary bishop in Bilbao and titular bishop of Marazanae .
The Bishop of Bilbao, Antonio Añoveros Ataún , gave him episcopal ordination on October 11th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were José María Cirarda Lachiondo , Bishop of Cordoba , and Luis María de Larrea y Legarreta , Bishop of León .
On October 17, 1991 he was appointed Bishop of Zamora . John Paul II appointed him Bishop of San Sebastián on January 13, 2000 . On November 21, 2009, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related retirement.
