Juan Miguel Betancourt Torres SEMV (born June 1, 1970 in Ponce , Puerto Rico ) is a Puerto Rican religious and Roman Catholic auxiliary bishop in Hartford .

Life

Juan Miguel Betancourt joined the religious community of Esclavos de la Eucaristía y de María Virgen , part of the Schoenstatt Movement , on January 1, 1992 , and made perpetual profession on August 6, 2000 . He received on 21 April 2001, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On 18 September 2018 it appointed Pope Francis to the titular bishop of Cursola and auxiliary bishop in Hartford. The Archbishop of Hartford, Leonard Paul Blair , ordained him episcopal on October 18 of the same year . Co-consecrators were the military bishop in the United States , Timothy Broglio , and Andrew Cozzens , auxiliary bishop of Saint Paul and Minneapolis .
