Juan San Martín , full name Juan Manuel San Martín Da Costa , (born January 20, 1994 in Rivera ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

The 1.79 meter tall offensive player San Martín has been in the ranks of the youth team of the Uruguayan first division club Atlético Peñarol since at least 2011 . In the Aurinegros , a use in the Primera División is not recorded. At the end of January 2013 it was reported that the San Martín was transferred to Benfica Lisbon in 2011 together with the two players Jim Morrison Varela and Elbio Álvarez , but initially remained in Montevideo. The transfer fee for the three players should have been 2.9 million euros, according to other sources 2.46 million euros. In 2013 he went to Portugal. However, he was loaned to SC Farense by Benfica in the same year . There he played eleven games in the Segunda Liga (no goal) in the 2013/14 season and was used once in the Copa de la liga. He then returned to Benfica. Now part of the squad of the second team in the Liga de Honra, he did not receive any playing time and moved to Louletano Desportos Clube in early November 2015 . There he was used ten times (five goals) in the II Divisão in the 2015/16 season . In the 2016/17 season he was used 26 times (two goals) in the league.

National team

San Martín was in the squad of the Uruguayan U-17 selection at the U-17 South American Championship 2011 in Ecuador . He also took part with her at the 2011 U-17 World Cup in Mexico . He contributed with one goal in five missions to win the runner-up world title.
