Jukka Viljo Tapani Tammi (born April 10, 1962 in Tampere ) is a former Finnish ice hockey goalkeeper who was under contract from 1984 to 1999 with Ilves Tampere , TuTo Turku and the Frankfurt Lions .

Career

Jukka Tammi played for Ilves Tampere when he was a junior , with whom he played in the top Finnish youth league in 1980. In the same year, the goalkeeper was appointed to the squad of the professional team for the first time, with whom he was on the ice in the following 15 seasons in the SM-liiga . In 1985 the left catcher with Tampereen Ilves became Finnish champion , in 1990 he was able to win the runner-up with the team and in 1989 the bronze medal of the SM-liiga. For the 1995/96 season, the goalkeeper switched to league competitor TuTo Hockey . After the season he joined the Frankfurt Lions from the German Ice Hockey League .

In Frankfurt, Tammi was promoted to the goalkeeper in the first year . In 1999 he reached the play-offs with Hessen for the first time, where the team could reach the semi-finals. The Finn also took part in the European Hockey League with the Lions this season . He then ended his active career at the age of 37.

International

Jukka Tammi won with the Finnish national team at the 1988 Winter Olympics silver medal, and in 1994 and 1998 the bronze medal. In 1995 he was also with the team with a 4-1 victory over Sweden for the first time ice hockey world champion . In addition, Tammi played at the international level in the Junior World Championship in 1992 , five other senior title fights between 1985 and 1995, the Olympic ice hockey tournament in 1992 and the Canada Cups in 1987 and 1991 .
