The Jula ( Russian Юла ) is a left tributary of the Pinega in the catchment area of the Northern Dvina in Arkhangelsk Oblast in northwestern Russia .
The Jula rises about 60 km northeast of Schenkursk . It flows mostly in a northerly direction and flows into the Pinega after 250 km. The catchment area of the Jula covers 5290 km² and is located between the Northern Dvina in the southwest and the Pinega in the northeast. The Jula is covered with a layer of ice from November, which breaks up at the end of April. The subsequent spring flood during the snowmelt forms the majority of the annual runoff. The mean discharge at the Patschicha gauge , 37 km above the mouth, is 48.6 m³ / s. Important tributaries are Jontala and Juras from the left, and Schiwrei , Sjomras and Ura from the right.
