Jule K. (* 1974 in Lemgo , bourgeois Juliane Kruschke ) is a German artist, comic strip artist and illustrator .

Life

Jule K. grew up in Extertal . She has lived in Hamburg since 1997 , where she studied illustration at the University of Applied Sciences (Armgartstrasse). During her studies, she published several comics that were self-published. These include Strange girls and Dr. Donna . In 2005, Cherry Blossom Girl , an ironic anti-superhero story, was published by Edition 52 in Wuppertal . The comic was also her diploma thesis. Fernanda's fabulous life was published in June 2008 , also at Edition 52. This is her first color comic. She has also published in anthologies such as Strapazin and Interview 2 (published by Ehapa ) as well as Spiegel Online . Jule K's central themes are music, girlfriends, struggle for survival and love.

Solo and group exhibitions, etc. a. with Françoise Cactus and Studio xx Berlin ( Me and my friends ), they took them to cities in Germany and other European countries. For example to Berlin for the Biennale or to Rijeka to the Museum of Modern Art there .

At the end of 1998, Jule K. replaced Sandra Ziegelmüller as bassist in the band Parole Trixi , then still under the name Jule Kruschke, and played there until the beginning of 2001. In the same year she won 3rd prize at the international comic competition of the Fumetto Festival . Since 2003 she has been designing the award sculptures for the Lesbian and Gay Film Days Hamburg . Illustrations by Jule K. published a. a. in the magazines Intro , Szene Hamburg , Maxi , Basta Calendar and in Das Magazin .
