Jules Colomb
Jules Colomb (born December 24, 1816 in Saint-Prex ; † May 26, 1893 there , entitled to live in Saint-Prex) was a Swiss politician .
biography
Jules Colomb was 1847-1852 assessors at peace court before he was from 1875 to 1877 Deputy Judge of the Civil Court. From 1876 to 1883 he also worked as a civil registrar.
He held his first political office from 1849 to 1852 as the Grand Councilor of the Canton of Vaud , where he later sat again from 1878 to 1888. He took radical views. From 1869 to 1893 he served as mayor in his home town of Saint-Prex and was a member of the Constitutional Council in 1884 . In 1879 he was elected to the National Council , where he held office until 1893. He was also President of the Building Tax Commission from 1886 to 1893.
Colomb was a farmer by profession . In the Swiss Army he was a lieutenant colonel and in 1847 an aide major in the Sonderbund War .
