Jules-François Blondel
Jules-François Blondel (born July 28, 1887 in Arras , † 1965 ) was a French diplomat .
Life
Jules-François Blondel was the son of Julie Daquin and the industrialist Henri Blondel. In 1913 he joined the Foreign Service and became an attaché in Saint Petersburg . From 1914 to 1915 and from 1919 to 1921 he was employed at the embassy in London . From 1916 to 1918 he worked at the Embassy in Washington, DC and from August 1921 to September 4, 1923 he was Chargé d'Affaires in Mexico City . In 1924 he was a delegation counselor in the Allied High Commission in Constantinople . From 1925 to 1928 he was Counselor in Athens and from 1928 to 1934 Counselor in Buenos Aires . In 1935 he was Legation Councilor in Rome and from 1936 to 1938 Ministre plénipotentiaire . In 1939 he was envoy to Dublin and in 1940 envoy to Sofia . In 1942 he was director of the Forces françaises libres in London and their representative in the governments-in-exile of Greece and Yugoslavia . From 1943 to 1944 he was ambassador to Rio de Janeiro and from 1945 to 1950 ambassador to Oslo . In 1950 he was a member of the French delegation at the UN headquarters . In 1952 he was retired .
