Jules Lapierre (born January 2, 1996 in Grenoble ) is a French cross-country skier .

Career

Lapierre took part in U18 and U20 races in the Alpine Cup from 2012 to 2016 . He finished second in the 2013/14 season and first place in the U20 overall standings in the 2015/16 season . At the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival 2013 in Brașov , he won 32nd place in sprint, 21st place over 7.5 km classic and 12th place over 10 km freestyle. At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 2014 in Val di Fiemme , he won the silver medal with the relay. In addition, he came there on the 14th place in the skiathlon and on the fourth place over 10 km classic. The following year he won the silver medal with the relay at the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in Almaty . In the individual races he was there tenth in the 10 km freestyle and seventh in the skiathlon. At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 2016 in Râșnov , he won the bronze medal with the relay. At the beginning of the 2016/17 season, he started in Valdidentro for the first time in the Alpine Cup and finished 18th over 15 km classic. In the further course of the season he came under the top ten ten times, including third place over 15 km freestyle in St. Ulrich am Pillersee and thus achieved fourth place in the overall ranking of the Alpine Cup. At the 2017 U23 World Championships in Soldier Hollow , he finished seventh in the 15 km freestyle and fourth in the skiathlon. In February 2018, he finished 15th in the skiathlon at the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang .

In the 2018/19 season, Lapierre finished 22nd in the Lillehammer Triple, 14th in the Tour de Ski 2018/19 and 31st in the World Cup finals in Québec , making it 36th in the overall World Cup. At the U23 World Championships in Lahti in 2019 , he won the gold medal in the 15 km freestyle. At the season highlight, the Nordic World Ski Championships 2019 in Seefeld in Tyrol , he ran to 24th place over 15 km classic and 19th place in the skiathlon .
