Julián García Centeno

Julián García Centeno OSA (born October 22, 1933 in Sitrama de Tera ) is emeritus Vicar Apostolic of Iquitos .

Life

Julián García Centeno joined the congregation of the Augustinians at and received on 13 July 1958, the priestly ordination . On June 19, 1989, John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in Iquitos and titular bishop of Girus .

The apostolic nuncio in Peru , Mario Tagliaferri , consecrated him bishop on October 22 of the same year; Co- consecrators were Gabino Peral de la Torre OESA, Vicar Apostolic of Iquitos, and José Delicado Baeza , Archbishop of Valladolid .

He was appointed Vicar Apostolic of Iquitos on January 5, 1991, and was introduced to the office on March 10 of the same year. On February 2, 2011, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related resignation.
