Julia Edtmeier (* in Linz ) is an Austrian actress .

Life

Julia Edtmeier received dance training in Linz and later in Paris at the Center de Danse du Marais . She completed her acting and singing training at the Performing Academy in Vienna in summer 2013. During her apprenticeship, she performed in the Wiener Stadthalle in the musicals Alice in Wonderland as Cheshire Cat, in Aladdin as Iago and in Camp Rock . In 2013 she played the role of Olga in the play Villa Dolorosa in the Casino on Schwarzenbergplatz of the Burgtheater .

As a result, she embodied Velma in West Side Story at the Staatz Felsenbühne in 2014 and was in Mamma Mia! and Jesus Christ Superstar at the Raimundtheater in Vienna and in Bussi at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz . Under the direction of Herbert Föttinger she worked in Anatol at the Theater in der Josefstadt . She played the role of Cecile de Volanges in the Wiener Galerie im Erste in the production Hazardous Liaisons, the production was nominated for a Nestroy in the category Best Off-Production in 2015 . At the Theater der Jugend she was on stage in the 2015/16 season in Momo and in the 2017/18 season as Namina in Das kleine Meermädchen and as Mo Miller in The Curse of David Ballinger .

In 2016 she founded the Bronski & Grünberg Theater in Vienna together with Alexander Pschill and Kaja Dymnicki , and they were nominated for the special award at the 2017 Nestroy Theater Prize. At Bronski & Grünberg she could be seen in the 2016/17 season as Lucy in Dracula , as Iphigenie in Anti_gone and as Polina in Der Spieler . As a result, she played there Rigoletto and Franzi in Wiener Blut under the direction of Ruth Brauer-Kvam . At the Landestheater Niederösterreich she appeared in Leon Pirat by Christine Nöstlinger in 2018 . In November 2019 she celebrated with thrones! - Dragon fire under the king's ass , a musical parody of Game of Thrones , premiered at Cabaret Simpl .

In 2004 she played the role of Judith in the TV film My Father, My Wife and My Beloved by director Michael Kreihsl based on the novel The poor spendthrift . In the movie comedy Love Machine by director Andreas Schmied , she starred as Georgy Hillmaier alongside Thomas Stipsits as his sister Gitti Hillmaier.
